Kimberly A. Hertz, BOCO

Kimberly is a hands-on facility manager dealing with prefabricated and custom orthotics in a full service O&P facility. Her career started in the DME environment by attending multiple courses in fitting prefabricated orthotic devices. With extensive college course work and great mentoring, she graduated to an O&P facility and earned her BOCO. She continues with additional course work and will soon qualify to sit for the CO exam process.

She has taught many courses dealing with a number of areas involved in O&P. She has also invested in the certification testing process by serving on the BOC item writers committee for a number of years.

  • 11/03 - Present- Practice Manager- Orthotist Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics- Practice Manager- Orthotist- Large volume orthotic business responsible for all aspects of evaluating and fitting patients with appropriate devices.
  • 06/07- Present- Consultant Amoena- Seminar leader- responsible for fit school classes, provided education on breast surgeries, anatomy of the breast and fitting of post mastectomy products.
  • 1/07-2/07- Consultant Apis footwear- Instructor for a footwear program. Responsible for the diabetic footwear and disease education to new footwear fitters.
  • 8/06 11/06- Consultant Camp Healthcare- Instructor for fitter school. Responsible for the lymphedema, compression, cervical and diabetic foot care programs, included all the anatomy and pathology information.
  • 1/1995- 9/2003- Business owner/ pharmacy technician/ orthotic fitter/ orthotist Elmora Healthcare- Co-owner in a large retail pharmacy with durable medical equipment and basic orthotic devices and mastectomy products.
